Oh, the torture and humiliation that comes with being my dog. As I do every year, last night I made the dogs dress up in hilariously adorable Halloween costumes we picked up from Petsmart for our amusement. I think I outdid myself this year, these costumes perfectly captured Roxy and Cash's unique personalities!

Roxy was a pink ballerina hippo, which was fitting because she was practically bursting out of her tutu. She was super cheezed about being put in such an ill-fitting costume,

What to be for Halloween...

October is a very important time in our household. Roxy's birthday is coming up at the end of the month (hurray) and of course, Halloween, the one time of the year that I can dress the dogs up without furious eye rolls from Jer. I take this opportunity very seriously and want to ensure their costumes are picture perfect! As usual, I've been frequenting my local

Hi all! Sorry it's been so long since I last posted, the holidays were really hectic and I've finally just caught up with everything! The first thing I wanted to share with you following my brief hiatus are the new collars Roxy and Cash received for Christmas from Mattie & Margot, my new go-to for durable, affordable, colourful collars that really pop! The absolute best thing about this line is their vast selection

Roxy and Cash don't know it yet, but they have a surprise gift coming their way tonight...matching hoodies! Aren't they awesome? After much trial and error we've found that hoodies are the easiest thing to put on/take off of the dogs before and after our walks, and that they are the least obstructive during their wild play. What I love most about these particular hoodies from Acanthus Apparel is that they have zippers in

I was supremely delighted yesterday to receive a special package in the mail - a new winter jacket for Roxy from Canada Pooch! I've been on the lookout for a warm and durable coat to keep her warm yet looking chic during our weekly hikes, so imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this gem, and from a Canadian company, hooray!

This casual-yet-cool parka boasts several features we consider to be musts:

We've always been told by strangers that Cash can be an intimidating-looking dog. Being that we know him and his super sweet personality, it's hard for us to imagine, however we try to respect others by keeping him on-leash and under control while in public. I now find myself wishing that others would extend me the same courtesy. Up until now I've avoided going into the details of the incident that occured this summer that resulted in Cash getting hurt. This is mostly because I don't want

It recently dawned on me that it might be weird that I tuck my dogs in at night. Furthermore, it might also be deemed strange that my dogs have a luxurious, human-like bed. Rather than curling up on a large, overstuffed, glorified pillow, my dogs have a proper bed featuring two (that's right, two) mattresses, two pillows, and a blanket to share.

The bottom "mattress" is the

As per our usual Sunday routine, Roxy, Cash, Jer and I set out to find a new trail to explore on our weekly hike. This time we left our city and traveled 30 minutes away to Fort Langley, a tiny little township filled with historical sites and some pretty cool trails. We decided to try the Houston gravel trail in Derby Reach park, the signage stated that this 4km loop would take 1 hour. It took us 2+. And so begins the story of our stint in what I call the Labyrinth of Danger.

Sometimes Roxy can be a real grouch. I'm not complaining, in fact this is one of her distinct qualities that I cherish the most. Perhaps it's that I enjoy seeing that part of myself reflected in her, or maybe it's just that I like sassy dogs.

This really isn't her fault. Imagine being treated like royalty from the time you're a puppy, growing up in a household where you're

Ever since Blackie Chan came to live with us, he's had an affinity for Cash. Actually, that's understating it. He is absolutely obsessed with Cash. Following him around and trying to snuggle him is one thing, however he's developed a strange behaviour that's totally baffling us - he suckles on Cash.

One morning I woke to a very strange, squeaky sucking sound, which turned out to be Blackie Chan sucking on Cash's tail. Gross, right? Well now he's progressed to suckling at Cash's
