IHDI is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization that specializes in rescuing shelter dogs, training them to fit the customized needs of individuals with hearing loss, and then placing them throughout the US and Canada free of charge.

Our organization began in 1978 and since that time, we have placed over 1,200 Hearing Dogs with recipients. We pull all of our service dogs from local Colorado animal shelters and it generally costs us about $8,000 to fully train, care, and place each dog, which we give for free to our recipients.
