The addition of peaches gives the
sweetness dogs enjoy, and nongluten
products are used to help
with allergies.


Recipe
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 7 1-cup servings

3 lb/1.3 kg ground lamb or in chunks
3 eggs
1/2 cup (2 oz/55 g) fresh peas, shelled
1 cup (6 oz/175 g) brown rice
1 cup (about 8 oz/225 g) canned
peach slices in natural juice

1 Saute the meat in a lightly sprayed pan over medium heat for about 15 minutes until no longer pink and the meat juices run clear. Let cool.
2 Meanwhile, cook the rice according to package instructions.
3 Cook the eggs in a saute pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring gently until the eggs are firm.
4 Mix the lamb with the scrambled eggs and let cool.
5 Mix together the peas, rice and peaches, then stir in the meat and egg mixture.

Vet’s View:

Dogs prone to diarrhea
may have a gluten intolerance, so try this
gluten-free recipe to see if it helps.

Portion Size:

For small dogs, 5/8
cup; medium dogs, 11/4 cups; large dogs,
21/2 cups. Feed twice a day.

Calcium:

Add 400 mg calcium per
1-cup serving (600 mg if using bone
meal).
