The San Francisco Public Library is celebrating the treasured place of dogs (and their sometimes-sidekicks, cats) in the 2010 installment of their annual wit & humour exhibition. This year’s exhibit, A Dog’s Life (With a Special Appearance by Cats): Selections from the Schmulowitz Collection of Wit & Humor, features Darby Conley’s Get Fuzzy, Patrick McDonnell’s Mutts, classic illustrations from The New Yorker and Life magazine, as well as a selection entitled Canines on Camera (Bolt! Beverly Hills Chihuahua! Best in Show!) and a screening of Dark Water Rising, a documentary of the animal crisis following Hurricane Katrina. The exhibition runs from April 1st until May 31st in the Skylight Gallery at the Main Library in San Francisco.
