Popeye

As a 1 year old, 35# Mastiff, he was brought in to be euthanized for having Valley Fever. He captured my heart as I put him on the scale and spoke to me saying "I've never even had the chance to know what it's like to be a dog!" We were inseparable after that day. Force feedings, expensive meds and ridiculous amount of food, we were able to get him to be 90#! He was exuberant, forgiving, had endless love and gave us so much laughter! We thought we had his disease under control, but that was short lived. We gave him almost 4 years of life as being a DOG! We had to make that tough decision to end his suffering as his organs were failing and he had no more "life" in him. He let us know it was time. We miss him every single day and know there will never be another one on this earth like him! I keep smiling and laughing at the memories he gave us, from his antics of chasing the sprinklers to his first time in snow! We will eternally miss his previous heart of gold!
