This photo was taken just 3 days before my sweet Keiko passed away. We found out in mid February of this year that she had mast cell tumor disease. After going to both VA Tech and NC State for further testing and diagnostics, a large adrenal tumor was discovered above her right kidney that was pressing against her major blood vessel. The cancer had also metastasized to her kidneys, pancreas, and lungs. A week before she passed, it was estimated she would have 2-3 months before I would have to make the toughest decision of my life. 2-3 months was way too soon for me to think about, much less, just a week later. To say I'm heartbroken is an understatement...I miss my sweet Keiko so so much :'( This picture captured so much in one moment...her love, my happiness of her in my life and her as my best friend, and overall the power of God being there, regardless of her cancer and pain and the indescribable heartache that would soon take place. This by far is one of my favorite pictures, ever!
