Pup Pup Kitty

Young entrepreneur creates a unique product line for pets that makes a difference not only for pets and pet parents but also rescues and shelters.

Pup Pup Kitty, a new startup owned and operated by Alley Byrd, strives to improve your pet's quality of life and comfort by providing high-quality, thoughtfully-designed pet products that not only last but work. Pup Pup Kitty’s Premium Protective Collar Kit was created to keep pets safe while giving pet parents the peace of mind they need and deserve when leaving their pets unattended.

If your pet has a long nose, long legs, or long body, the products that are currently out on the market will most likely not prevent them from getting to their post-surgery wounds, hot spots, or other problem areas like they're supposed to. The amount of damage your cat or dog can do in minutes, sometimes even seconds, can cause additional pain and suffering and cost hundreds of dollars or more.

For this reason, Pup Pup Kitty created the Premium Protective product line to ensure the safety and comfort of pets. Byrd sourced the best possible materials to make certain her products are built to last while providing your pet with the highest level of comfort. She was sensitive to the particular needs of rescue pets while making improvements to the plastic cone and donut collar. “We wanted to provide a product that would not scare or stress the pet any more than they already are after surgery, an accident, or an injury, while giving pet parents peace of mind when leaving their pets unattended," explains Byrd.

With Pup Pup Kitty’s Premium Protective Collar Kit, the cone and donut work together to act as a shield and limit the range of motion of your pet’s neck.. This unique design allows your pet to eat, drink, and function normally while keeping stress and discomfort to a minimum.  Ms. Byrd explains, “Since the products currently on the market are not made for pets with long noses, long legs, or long bodies, vets and pet parents simply use the next size up, which can sometimes prevent the pet from reaching the problem area but also makes it harder, sometimes impossible, for your pet to eat, drink, or get around.  For me, this is simply not an option, and since the majority of us can't afford babysitters every day for our four-legged kids, the Collar Kit was born.”

Pup Pup Kitty announced the debut of their Kickstarter campaign today; the $15,000 goal with an $8,000 minimum will facilitate the development of an online store and packaging while allowing the company to expand its current production. Byrd is committed to making a difference for pets and pet parents, while also benefitting rescues and shelters through Pup Pup Kitty’s multiple giveback programs. Byrd says, "Check us out on Kickstarter and please consider purchasing one of our products at an early-bird discount, making a donation, and/or sharing it with your animal-loving friends through social media. This is a product you can feel good about, so join in and make a difference!” The Kickstarter campaign is active until May 6th at www.tinyurl.com/ppk-kickstarter.
