Every homeless pet deserves a great meal and a forever home this holiday season and that’s why PETCO and Merrick are teaming up to donate high quality and nutritious meals to pet shelters coast to coast.

For each Merrick can of food purchased at PETCO in November or December, like great holiday favorites Merrick Grain Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner or Merrick Grain Free Turducken, a meal will be donated to a rescue animal awaiting their forever home.

Merrick and PETCO will donate meals up to a $1 million of cans purchased to these remarkable shelters:

·         Mayor’s Alliance for NYC's Animals

·         PAWS Chicago

·         Best Friends Animal Society

Special displays are on display in PETCO stores nationwide this holiday season so pet parents can learn about the promotion and pick up a can to help make a difference in a shelter animal’s life.

About Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals

http://www.animalalliancenyc.org/

The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, is the sole umbrella organization for animal welfare in NYC. Since 2003, the organization has been working with a coalition of 150+ rescue groups and shelters to find homes for thousands of New York City's dogs and cats. Its  goal is to transform New York City into a no-kill community by 2015, where no dogs or cats of reasonable health or temperament are killed simply because they do not have homes.

About PAWS Chicago

http://www.pawschicago.org

PAWS Chicago (Pets Are Worth Saving) is a national model in animal sheltering, committed to bringing an end to the killing of homeless cats and dogs.  Since the organization’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless pets killed in the city has been reduced by nearly 70 percent, from 42,561 to fewer than 14,000 last year. This year, PAWS Chicago will find homes for more than 6,000 pets from its cage less, state-of-the-art No Kill Adoption Center, and perform more than 18,000 free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries in disadvantaged communities through its Lurie Spay/Neuter Clinic and GusMobile spay/neuter van.
