Jolly Pets®, Inc. announced the launch of their new partnership with Project Blue Collar – Support the Underdog® and Fetch Eyewear for their new initiative, #Pittie2020.

Pittie2020, which launches May 1, is a social media photo campaign collecting and featuring pictures of pit bulls wearing glasses. Using the term “20/20,” the universally understood term for perfect vision, PBC wants to ‘clear the vision’ and change the way people look at them. By tagging the photos with #Pittie2020, the campaign will include a monthly photo contest in which the winner receives a $125 gift certificate from Fetch Eyewear and a $25 gift certificate from Project Blue Collar. Additionally, a donation of Jolly Pet dog toys and 20% of the sales from campaign link (www.pittie2020.com) will go to a pit bull rescue of the winner’s choice. Pit bull parents, advocates, and animal rescue organizations are urged to be a part of the contest and the overall initiative. No purchase is necessary to enter.

“We came up with the idea because we need more people to have a shared vision of what wonderful dogs pit bulls truly are. We want to encourage people to show pit bulls in happy, goofy ways because we feel that humor and levity can open people to learning more about this often-misunderstood breed. We are exhausted by the discrimination faced by pit bulls and their responsible owners, so we wanted to use our reach to send a positive message about them. We’re honored to partner with companies like Fetch Eyewear and Jolly Pets in an effort to advocate for pit bulls,” say Carole Feeny and Kristin Waters, co-founders of Project Blue Collar.

Long term goals of the #Pittie2020 campaign include branded merchandise benefitting pit bull rescues, an educational portal featuring links and resources about pit bulls, and expanded partnerships with companies and non-profits who are pit bull advocates.
